Throughout the world over 4 million dogs become homeless each year and several years ago, I became one too. Pedigree Dog Food is donating a 17LB bag of their dry food for this blog post and the same for every post in this blog hop.
After spending 12 years with my elderly family, they had to move to a nursing home and couldn’t take me with them, so I was surrendered to the Animal Welfare League who have a special Golden Oldies section.
Even though @AWLQ saved my life, I was traumatised and wanted to die. I was advertised as “Pet of the Week $50.00″ when mum saw me and I immediately did voodoo on her.
My shelter story, meeting mum and getting my own ‘forever family’ is documented in my FREE ebook: PepiSmartDog: The Beginning.
In 3 days mum and I head to Japan on another research trip, investigating the Korean Dog Meat Trade. It will be emotionally very tough, but we are front line workers fighting the abhorrent cruelty that demands the animals be tortured while still alive.
On August 7th I am holding a 2 hour Twitter Awareness Event, for dogs caught in the Dog Meat Trade. Many of these animals are stolen pet dogs, still wearing collars and bells. I hope you will be able to share our important event. We are NOT raising money; it is purely to raise awareness for the plight of dogs and cats in desperate need.
Hurry Up & Join the Blog Hop: just write a blog about ‘Pedigree, Help A Dog Campaign‘ and post it before midnight, June 30th. In the past 2 years, thru these blog hops, Pedigree and bloggers have churned out nearly 650 blog posts about raising awareness.
