Today I’m thankful the Australian floods have peaked and begun receding. The trail of destruction and havoc is just awful and the amount of wildlife, livestock and pets who lost their life will never be truly known. Several people were also lost their life.
Fellow Aussie twitter buddy @wallasekatt sent me a link FOR AUSSIE FAMILIES TO REUNITE WITH THEIR LOST PETS: Where Pets Are Found.com.au. Their also on Twitter: @petsarefound.
If you have lost a pet or know an Australian pal who’s lost a pet please direct them immediately to these links.
Mum was heavily involved in animal rescue in the 2011 floods and often rescued pets end up many miles, or suburbs away from where they went missing, leaving it almost impossible for families to locate them.
It’s bad enough to lose you house and all your possessions but to lose your pal is just the blow that brings people to breaking point. Helping reunite pals is a wonderful thing! So thankful for this service.
Pppsst: have you noticed my website looks different? It’s still a construction site but work is well and truly underway.
What are you thankful for this week? Whatever it is, why not share it with us? If you don’t want to write, just add a wordless pic; this blog hop runs all week, every week. If you need help loading your post just let me know and I’m happy to help you. :=o)

Such a shame about the flooding there.
I’m glad there are efforts to reunite lost pets with owners!!
Thankfully there are many good people working hard to reunite pets and owners. Thank DOG! XXX
Thanks for hosting the Thankful Thursday blog hop pal,. We’re so sorry about the terrible flood in your country. We were very worried about all our Twitter pals over there, but in talking with one of then, they indicated that all of you are okay. That’s so good to hear.
Hi Mario, thanks for participating in our Thankful Thursday Hop. So relieved twitter pals were all OK, a few damaged carpets, etc, but nothing catastrophic.
Floods continued to worsen further down the coast and some parts are still suffering badly.
When we said we wanted rain, we forgot to say we only wanted a little bit.

Gosh I am so sorry about the Australian floods! How aweful. You will all be in my thoughts today.
Besides being thankful that I am not dealing with floods, I am thankful for the fact that my loved ones human and fur-babies are all safe today. I am also thankful for my four sweet kitties that we found back in July in the pouring summer rains. The are all ‘teenaged’ kitties now and doing wonderfully!

So sorry about all the flooding! I swear the worst thing about losing a pet is not knowing where they are. Such fear and anguish. Thanks for hosting Thankful Thursday and good luck with the blog ‘facelift’! Looking forward to seeing the new one.
Your absolutely right: a missing pet is just awful! Hope they all get reunited as soon as possible.
Facelift on my site here is underway; it’s currently at the ‘looking weird’ stage. BOL!
Still a long way to go. *nervous face*
