Welcome to our Sunday Selfie project, and we even have a video! We are thrilled to introduce you to one of our young Koalas, who we photographed yesterday. Koalas are classed as ‘Endangered’ in Queensland, where we live, so every time we hang out with a wild untouched Koala, we see it as an absolute privilege.
Fortunately this Koala is healthy with no signs of Retro Virus or Chlamydia, which are the fatal viruses causing Koalas to be listed as ‘Endangered.’ The following photos are exactly as I want to see a Koala who is on the ground – on the move and heading to safety, up a tree.
Koalas only remain stationary on the ground in daylight when they are very ill and need rescuing. Running to get back home to his tree is a very positive sign of a healthy Koala.
Please enjoy our Koala’s one minute video:
Hope you enjoyed meeting our Koala. They are such a special and treasured animal, which are under so much threat. Its one thing to see Koalas in captivity, but to see them in the wild, completely untouched, is very heat warming. And even better when they are healthy!
Don’t forget to join our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, which stays open all week, each week. Thank you fr visiting and we hope to see you back here again real soon. *waves paw* :=o)
