@MissBusyBiz is a long time twitter pal who’s found herself in a bad situation, urgently needing help from us, even if it’s only hugs. Missy and her mom Francy have lost their home so we’re trying to work on helping them look to a brighter future.
As I write this article, (elderly) Francy is packing her belongings into cardboard boxes as Missy and Kirbee sit close by, fretting because their world is collapsing. Francy is determined to keep her pets: 2 small elderly indoor dogs, 1 indoor cat, 1 indoor fish.
Because it’s so traumatic, Francy, @MissBusyBiz and brofur @Kirbee_Dude often just tell pals they “feel tired”, because it’s too painful to come out and say what’s really happening. Plus, they have been in a lot of (understandable) denial, unable handle the stark truth.
Losing their home is made even more serious because Francy’s husband, George is in the final stages of advanced Alzheimers and can not be left alone. A returned veteran, he frequently cannot even remember how to walk, leaving him bed-bound and helpless, as his mind drifts in and out of reality. His only constant is Francy, which leaves her drained emotionally and physically (from lifting him.)
Doctors have told Francy moving house is possibly critically dangerous for George because of the stress he will go thru, which will spike his already severe Alzheimers, but sadly the situation is out of Francy’s hands. He cannot be placed in care because they cannot afford to pay for it. Francy is well known for her blog: Senior Care Tips For Family but even she didn’t see this coming. Francy also tweets under @SeniorCareTips and @WritersThatChat.
@BigBoyBosco has set up a CHIP-IN for pals who wish to donate toward Francy and Missy. We totally understand many pals are not in a position to donate cash, but maybe you could offer a hug or RT this article, to help spread the information to everyone. Wednesday October 3rd, from 5pm to 9pm EST, we’re holding a twitter #PinkPawty to show our support for Francy and Missy. Really hope to see you there cause it’s going to be fun!
The Credit Union is seizing their house so they have to pack up and get out, even though they have no-where to go and George is a returned veteran.
Francy has begun packing cardboard boxes and will have to put a substantial amount of stuff in storage, even though she will give a lot of things away. A family friend, Bob will help them with a moving truck as well as first and last rental costs.Their long time boarder Cheryl will move with them (she is on a disability pension.)
They need to find a house in Seattle (near the family friend Bob), with at least 3 bedrooms, that will allow indoor pets. Because George can not be left alone at all, Francy is not able to go and get a job; especially now as George is in the final stages of his illness.
They basically don’t have any, but they’ve done an amazing job of keeping a stoic poker face. However, facing being kicked onto the street has meant they have to toss their poker face out the window and let pals know what’s really happening.
If it’s possible for you to donate, I know Francy and Missy will thank you from the bottom of their heart. This is a genuine case of need and initially I had to almost put Francy in a choke hold to get the bottom line facts and go deeper than “I feel tired.”
Thank you for taking the time to read about Francy and her family. Any type of support is greatly appreciated, including lots of hugs. If you have suggestions or ideas, please leave a comment because I will pass them onto Francy. Thank you. :=o)
