Welcome to our new blog. My name’s Teddy Rupert Esquire and my new fuzzy brofur is Steve Furwin, who’s just arrived from @Kolo_Martin’s Baboon Re-Homing Centre in England. We live in Australia and hope you’ll visit us often and follow our fun.
We’re currently hosting @BorisKitty’s Edgar, from America, so there’s a lot acrylic laughter going on. Before Edgar arrived he spent time with @ClingyCat and his family, also in Australia. Clingy has very kindly allowed us to share his family album with you!
Edgar’s Journey by @ClingyCat, written by PepiSmartDog:
New Zealand Customs got stinky when Edgar went to leave the country, heading for Australia on his world journey. After pulling a large number of cute face poses, Edgar got a clearance and headed “across the ditch” as New Zealanders and Australians joke with each other (except NZ’s pronounce it as “the dutch.”)
@ClingyCat mom, Carolyn met me at the airport and couldn’t stop kissing me. She even bought a new car, just to meet me. When we arrived at their house the Clingy kittehs, Jazz and Captain Worm Sparrow met me and laid down a few cat laws before their mum came around the corner and started kissing me again.
Dear friend @whatdoingdougal had a secret chocolate Bilby waiting for me. MMMmm! We got up early the next day to catch a plane from Queensland to Victoria, to go to my fist ever Australian Rules Football game (AFL.) Clingy had a wonderful surprise for me: my own AFL football outfits; he bought me both teams outfits!. Lots of people at the airport thought I was a famous football player, so I signed a lot of autograph books. Hee Hee!
In Melbourne we all went to the Melbourne Zoo, reputed to be one, if not the best zoo in the world. Other zoo’s copy Melbourne and San Diego Zoos to be just like them and I was very excited to meet the Aussie animals, who were all so cute.
We went to a beautiful chocolate shop, the same brand @whatdoingdougal’s chocolate Bilby came from, then we went to the Beauty Spa for cute-ification. That night I learnt some ‘footy lingo’ (football talk) from watching footy tv shows, so I was all set for the big football game at the iconic MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground.)
Next morning when I looked out our hotel room window, there seemed to be a lot of fans gathered around and I think they were calling my name, so I started waving.
After a big brekkie, we headed for the MCG, also known as the homeland of the AFL. Strutting around in my Tiger’s outfit, the Tiger’s Mascot saw me and just had to give me a cuddle.
It was a great game, with us screaming “TIGERS” on the top of our voices. The Tiger’s won and the day couldn’t have been better as we sang the theme song: “We are from Tiger Land. Yellow and black…”
After the footy we sampled a little more of Melbourne’s culture, by exploring the beautiful Botanical Gardens, the Fairy Tree and miniature Shakespeare Village in the Fitzroy gardens. I made a lot of friends, signed a lot of autographs and had a great weekend in Melbourne with @ClingyCat’s family. Woo Hoo!
From PepiSmartDog: here’s a photo my mum took of Edgar and @ClingyCat’s mum, Carolyn. Think Edgar has made a lifelong friend with Clingy’s mum. Now I know why Edgar was covered in kisses when he arrived at our house! BOL!
Our fun has just started, so I hope you can come along for the ride!
*mow* how exciting! Wonder if my Mum could send me to Australia too, could meet all my Aussie furiends and – of course – watching all the AFL matches! *whisper* just say #GoPies
