The masked Monkeys of Indonesia, Jakarta are monkeys being forced to perform on the street, dressed in porcelain doll maskes, wigs and clothes and smoke cigarettes; all to entertain tourists.
They live in a place called ‘Monkey Village’ and are kept in small cages in chains. To force the monkey to stay standing upright, owners often hang the monkey upside down or tie it’s hands behind it’s back.
Many of these monkeys die while being trained! Please do ‘not’ pay these people money if you see them.
This is cruel and heartless with no remorse for the pain and suffering caused to the monkeys. The photos were taken by Ed Wray.
