Thankful Thursday Blog Hop
THANK YOU to everyone helping in the major flooding disasters taking place in Colorado and surrounding areas, USA and Mexico City and surrounding areas, Mexico.
Our heart goes out to all affected pals and families and we send you hugs of comfort and strength. Even though we are separated by many miles and oceans, you are still in our thoughts and prayers.
The article Rescue Groups Hard At Work Saving Animals In Colorado shows a heart wrenching photo of a horse in a heavily flooded large pasture, with fast gushing water already lapping at it’s belly area. The horse is still wearing it’s fly-mask.
Shockingly, this horse had been abandoned by it’s owner and left TIED UP to a fence, as it’s owner was evacuated. Leaving the horse tied up meant it couldn’t swim to safety and find higher ground.*
Thankfully a television station helicopter saw the distressed horse and radioed it in. “How the heck does somebody evacuate and leave this horse tied up?” one person commented, setting off a string of responses. Thank you to the rescue team who responded and went and free’d the horse.
The same article lists phone numbers for American animal emergency phone numbers, including pet friendly shelters. Please keep these numbers handy for future emergencies.
