Hi and welcome to our blog hop. Hope you all had a great week and if you didn’t I hope you will feel better after reading positive things from blogs, for this week’s hop.
Many humans fret their pals aren’t with them long enough but thankfully, here is a kitteh to help all humans rest a little easier: LUCY. She is 39 YEARS OLD, making her the oldest cat in the world. Guess what?
Lucy’s owners also owned the second oldest cat in the world too, who was 34 years old. Is it in the water? No, both cats lived on a diet of bacon, eggs, broccoli and coffee. *spinning eyes*
Here’s the third twist to this story: Lucy only lives a few hours from me. She’s owned by Bill Thomas, 63, in New South Wales (I’m in Queensland, Australia.) Bill says “She’s gone a bit deaf but apart from that she’s in good shape and still looks for mice every day.”
Thank you Lucy. Looks like we can all throw our special diets out the window and eat big breakfasts and drink coffee. Thank you Lucy too, for being an ambassador for getting up off the bed and zooming around doing things!
I am very thankful to BlogPaws because yesterday I received another Award for Barktending for Blogpaws Pawty when we gave a paw up to the Stray Rescue Shelter of St. Louis, who do wonderful work helping as many homeless pals as possible. My other award was for my Rainbow Bridge work, as a Rainbow Bridge Ambassador, which I featured in a previous Thankful Thursday.
Each week I’m zooming from blog to blog, leaving comments and amazed the way many pals dress their blogs in themes for what’s hot for that week. Everyone’s website looks great! *quizzical look at ‘Her‘ and wonders how come I’m not doing that?* Quick quiz: do you prefer this new layout with photos cantered or the older one with smaller photos on edges? I’m road testing this layout.
What are you thankful for this week? Do you know you don’t even have to write anything, you can even just post a picture. Did you know you can also post about anything at all? We love diversity so feel free to write or post on any subject your thankful for.
Wow! A 39 year old kitty? That’s crazy! Congrats to those owners for figuring out the secret to a long life 🙂 Congrats on your award! I bet you were a pawsome barktender (I wasn’t able to make the pawty that day). Thank you for hosting the hop!
Hi Playful Kitty, thanks buddy. Blogpaws Pawty’s are always pretty awesome. :=o)

Hi Samantha and Clementine, thanks for your kind words and joining in. :=o)
What a great story about Lucy!
Hi Angel, Awesome, I know. :=o)
OMC – Is that cat for real? M said she’s never heard of a kitty living that long. Her Pepper was 18 when he crossed the bridge, and we often hear of a kitty who hits lower 20’s. This is amazing. Sorry we’ve been missing so long – I’m putting my paws down with M and told her next week she needs to help with a blog post.
Hi Mario, it’s crazy I know! As far as I know, it’s real. Look forward to reading your next post Mario. Don’t forget to tell M she can even just post a pic with no writing. :=o)
Hoap dis gitz posted. i juss happee to hab a nicy hoam an i iz top cat.
Hi Tinkie! Welcome to Thankful Thursday buddy. Did you know I could help you add your facebook page if you wanted to add that? Can’t remember if you told me if you have a blog or not. Anyway – WELCOME Buddy! :=o)
She looks pretty old but I don’t believe 39. She’s gonna have to show a valid birth certificate. MOL!
Hi Keisha! Hahaha! Maybe a DNA? BOL! :=o)
Wow, go, Lucy, go! 🙂
ConCATulations on your great awards!
Hi Meowmeow! Crazy age, 39. BOL! We may need a DNA test. :=o)
