Welcome to our weekly blog hop! Did you all see the moon? We had heavy cloud cover but managed to shoot this right before losing all visibility. NOTE: look to the upper left of the moon and you’ll see 3 stars in a row. I can never remember their names, but we are shooting in the Southern Hemisphere. [‘She’ tried to look it up and became more confused. BOL!]
I’d like to dedicate this Thankful Thursday to a very special pal and his mom, who have SECRETLY done more for anipals than anyone knows! @Smokey8 and his mom Tess are the pals behind countless numbers of Rainbow Bridge portraits being secretly donated to grieving families, which were painted by the brilliant @zaziart (Joan Brienza Nardozzi.)
As many of you know, I am already over the Rainbow Bridge so I can say from personal experience how valuable an expertly done portrait is to everyone who loves their recently lost pal. I have arranged many chip-in’s for portraits and every time Smokey8 and his mom have been there.
BUT – there have been MANY times when Smokey and his mom secretly arranged lots of other portraits for even more pals – and they secretly paid for it all, by themselves. If you stop and think about it, this is pretty amazing.
While I was travelling recently, I found out it was @Smokey8’s first Rainbow Bridge anniversary, but it was missed by many pals. I only found this out when I went back and left comments on everyone’s site, from joining our blog hop and I was saddened to see Smokey’s blog didn’t have any comments about his first memorial. Please click this and leave him a comment. (Smokey passed away in very tragic circumstances in an unexpected freak accident.)
Pals, even if you don’t know Smokey, take it from me: he and his mom have done more for our animal community than any of us know! This is one pal who SHOULD GET A MEDAL, honouring all they’ve done and still continue to do. I’m so thankful to call them dear friends.
What are you thankful for this week? Join our blog hop and share your week with us. This blog hop stays open all week. Don’t forget to tell your friends and bring them along too. Look for me visiting your site later today and leaving comments on each post. I’m always so thankful to each of you for supporting our blog hop. YOU GUYS ROCK! :=o)
