Welcome to the home of Thankful Thursday and for joining our blog hop. Yesterday we had a terrible scare: one of my three fur-sibs, Suki (the tiny Siamese cat) was rushed into life-saving surgery. We had a few anxious hours before hearing she had survived – THANK DOG!
Overnight she developed a severely blocked anal-sac which quickly turned into a raging abscess, the size of a large grape. This illness is fairly common in dogs but not so much in cats.
Suki is an adult, but she’s very “petitie” (naturally skinny) only weighs 2.1kgs, so he size of the abscess was causing necrotic skin to form, which was growing in size before our eyes! It was most alarming. If the abscess had burst internally, it would have killed her but thankfully, the vet got to it just in time. PHEW!
Suki’s now back home, wearing a drainage pipe, stitches and a cone-collar for two weeks. She’s not real happy but she is alive and we are VERY THANKFUL. :=o)
PLEASE NOTE: if you have a sick pal of need me to post something in our blog hop – please email or message me on facebook so we can include you in our next week’s posts. We are always happy to post things for pals, but often we don’t hear things until its too late. So don’t be shy – just bark or meow at us. :=o)
What are you thankful for this week? Please share your week with us and join our hop. Its a great way to get to know each other and every pal’s story is unique. Hope to see you here next week too! *waves paw* :=o)
