Thankful Thursday Logo 2Happy Valentines Day everyone! Here’s a love story with a twist about two dogs and their owner.

The backyard had been fun but he wanted to give her a big surprise, so the Lhasa Apso dog smashed part of the back fence down and lead his West Highland White Terrier sisfur/girlfriend thru the Arch Of Freedom he’d just created.

Together thay ran and laughed and jumped with the butterflies. An hour later they were still running, trying to laugh and too tired to jump with any butterflies.

After the third hour the sun was beating down, it was stinking hot and the wind had picked up. They were now seriously thirsty, over heated, totally exhausted and LOST.

Panic set in as the girl dog started having asthma attacks, from being over heated and over stressed but the boy dog told her they need to keep moving.

They saw a big building with the name Private Golf Course and arrived there just as (my mum) Michele, parked her golf buggy and looked up to see two dogs staggering up the pathway.

She immediately sprang into action, following them thru the Dining Room and into the Pro Shop where thankfully  she was able to catch the girl dog who by this time was in severe respitorary  difficulty; fitting with bad asthma and at the point of collapse.

Scooping the girl up, mum spent ages trying to catch the boy but he was too scared so mum tricked him into following his girlfriend as she carried her back to our house. Luring him into the garage, she lowered the big door with him inside it, standing next to his girlfriend. Thankfully, he wouldn’t leave her side.

They both pounced on the water when it was delivered and regained their composure by laying on the cool concrete inside the dark garage. It was some time before the girl’s skin color returned to normal soft pink, instead of the over baked purple it had become but thankfully she made a full recovery.

Both dogs turned out to be big smoochers with professionally cut haircuts and perfect nails, so they were obviously someone’s loved pets, although neither of them wore collars. Happily they slipped into ‘my’ sets of harnesses and jumped into the car, ready to ride to the Dog Pound.

In Australia we do not have stray dogs running around like many other countries, so mum was confident the owner would show up before too long. Within one hour of being at the pound, a frantic woman arrived desperate to find her two dogs.

He had created an adventure and wouldn’t leave her side. And their mum didn’t let them down when she realised they were missing from their back yard. Thankfully, this love story ended with everyone reunited and cuddled up, back on their own sofa.
